Each week you child will have the following assignments and/or tests to complete by the due dates:
Monday--given spelling packet and words to study
Wednesday--spelling test
Wednesday--given new vocabulary words to study and begin flash cards
Friday--vocabulary test
Monday--give science packet
Friday--science packet due
One book club summary (by end of October should be 5 paragraphs in length) is due on individual due dates each week (after reading for at least 90 minutes--some of these minutes are expected to be read aloud).
FYI: We have a 20 minute study hall each day in class after recess and, depending on morning arrival, an average of 15 minutes to work on assignments in the mornings. I will, sometimes, assign additional work in the mornings, but a few pieces of homework throughout the week is to be expected in 5th grade.
