Following Indiana State Guidelines, fourth graders have their hearing screened to make sure each student is able to hear and learn in the classroom. Hearing loss may be caused by birth defects, earwax, middle ear infections, viral infections or prolonged and repeated exposure to loud noise. Students in this class will complete the screening on Thursday, August 20. Only those students who do not pass the screening will receive a letter to take home to their parents. Hearing screenings can be conducted upon request by the teacher and parent.
